Who We Are‎ > ‎

A little about us...

We the People...
As a chapter of the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF), our purpose is to defend the First Aamendment, which guarantees every American freedom of belief and non-belief.

No religion should be allowed to interfere in the operation of government and government should not interfere with any religious organization. This is what is known as separation of church and state, and is critical to maintaining a free society. And to be clear, you do not have to be an atheist, agnostic, secular humanist or "none" to want church and state separate. A theocracy would be no good for any religous person either, because it would be inherently discriminatory against one religion in favor of the "majority" religion.
We also are active in the community by supporting humanitarian efforts, and promoting non-belief as a healthful, positive worldview.  Those who are questioning or do not hold any religious belief will find an accepting, supportive community that provides companionship, engagement and frequent activities that reflect our Secular Humanist values and interests in both science and the arts, being "greener", and helping non-human animals.

We are also interested in partnering with open-minded believers who adhere to the principles of separation of state and church. The establishment clause of the first amendment is our commonality, and one in which we can become a stronger force for change together!

Let's continue on our path toward a more enlightened, secular society!
